Genis wins it's 5th award for innovation, presented by the Slovenian
Chamber of Commerce - this year's silver award is for innovation in automated
data capture from PDF files.
KRANJ, 1.6.2015 - Genis has
again proven that it is among the most innovative development companies in the
IT solutions and services industry. The Slovenian Chamber of Commerce for the
Gorenjska region presented the silver award for Gen4PDF services, which allows
the use of standard PDF files for automating paperless operations. For Genis,
which entered the innovations contest for the fifth year running, it is the
sixth award. All of the company's winning innovations are part of a portfolio
of e-commerce solutions and services for commerce and public administration,
offered to the market under their own brands.
have traditionally delivered solutions with a high degree of originality and
productivity. "The silver award is a pleasant surprise, as it is much more
difficult to create something really new and original in informatics these
days. We are proud that the jury recognised the value-added services offered by
Gen4PDF, which represent innovation on a global scale," said Janko Štefančič,
Director of Genis. Gen4PDF delivers technical and business innovation, by
automating data capture from PDF files it allows the creation of paperless
operations, whether implemented as internal or external business processes.
Development of this innovation, which enables the creation of paperless
operations across the globe, is a collaboration by Stane Štefančič, Janko
Štefančič and Mitja Zakotnik.
Gen4PDF is the first service to
automate data capture directly from PDF files using Machine Reading
technologies. The service enables the transfer of computer-read data directly
into other computer programs for document processing or to generate other
electronic document formats. The entire process takes place electronically and
has version auditing, it conforms with EU directives and local legislation.
By using Gen4PDF, businesses can attain paperless operations, in the
simplest manner, based on PDF files, which are the de facto e-document standard
in the EU and around the world. The service is cloud-based, so it can be used
without the intervention of a business information system, and without
modifying exchange and format of e-documents. "By using Gen4PDF, companies can
respond quickly to requests from local and international business partners in
exchanging e-documents, while efficiently supporting a variety of internal
processes, as the service is suited to all kinds of activities," explained
Janko Štefančič. The innovation removes the need to copy data manually from PDF
files, automating business processes and operational procedures in areas such
as document exchange within the supply chain, processing forms or certificates,
and specifying service provision. Gen4PDF can incorporate processing for a
variety of PDF document structures, for use by commercial and public
institutions for business to business or between institutions, with end
customers and for in-house operations.
